Swimwear has its own constraints that don't show up in other apparel categories. Chlorine resistance, UPF 50+ protection, 4-way stretch retention after repeat wear, and seam construction that holds up through 100+ wash cycles — those specs drive fabric selection and production process. Our preferred fabrics: 80/20 nylon-spandex (industry standard, chlorine-resistant via ECONYL recycled or virgin nylon), 86/14 polyester-spandex (more chlorine-resistant, less stretchy), and Vita Lycra (premium swim fabric used by Speedo/Arena competition lines). All certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and UPF 50+ tested. Real cost for a triangle bikini set (top + bottom) in standard 80/20 nylon-spandex at 100-pc MOQ to a US 3PL: ~$5.50 FOB Karachi + $0.50 freight + $0.85 US import duty (15.5% on swim synthetic) + $0.20 3PL = $7.05 landed. Sells at retail $35-65 for boutique tier; $80-140 for premium swim brands. Sublimation prints on swimwear: 4-color or 8-color CMYK on polyester-spandex (nylon-spandex doesn't sublimate well). Photographic detail supported. Sample print-strike for visual approval before bulk dye. Most Frankies Bikinis-style printed bikinis source this way. Production process note: swimwear is sewn with flatlock seams to prevent chafing. We have dedicated flatlock machines on the floor (not all factories do — many use regular overlock with stretch thread, which is technically OK for cheap swimwear but fails compliance for premium brands). Sustainable swimwear: ECONYL® regenerated nylon available with documented chain-of-custody. About 30% more expensive than virgin nylon but increasingly required by EU swim brands and some US sustainable brands.
