Authentic surf board shorts construction: • Fabric: 100% polyester microfiber 4-way stretch, 80-100 GSM (lightweight, fast-drying) • Length: traditional 19-22" outseam (mid-thigh, below knee for performance) • Closure: drawstring + velcro fly + button (no zipper, for surf safety) • Side seams: side-seam-free construction (no seam where leg meets water for chafe reduction) • Construction: flatlock seams throughout, reinforced inseam, internal mesh lining for support Beach/leisure board shorts construction: • Fabric: polyester or cotton-poly blend, 120-160 GSM (heavier hand-feel, fashion drape) • Length: shorter (15-17") for fashion-leisure positioning • Closure: drawstring + button + zipper (standard menswear construction) • Construction: standard overlock seams (versus authentic surf flatlock) • Lining: minimal or no lining (versus full-mesh in surf-authentic) Decoration: sublimation works well on polyester board shorts (full-bleed photographic prints common).
