Acid Wash T-Shirt Manufacturer (Vintage & Distressed)

Acid-wash t-shirt production at premium streetwear tier requires careful fabric selection and wash technique. The wash effect on lightweight t-shirt fabric (140-240 GSM) shows fade patterns differently than heavyweight hoodie fabric — more delicate, more variation across the fabric surface. Our acid-wash t-shirt production line runs separately from standard production. We use 100% cotton single jersey at 200-240 GSM (lighter weights produce harsh fade contrast, heavier weights soften it). 24s or 26s yarn count gives cleaner wash surface than 20s heavyweight yarn (which can show streaking from wash chemicals catching in heavier yarn structure). Wash pattern options: • Vintage all-over wash: uniform fade across entire garment, looks like 5+ year aged tee. Popular for streetwear-fashion positioning. • Distress wash with destruction: combined acid-wash with controlled fabric destruction (small holes, ragged hem, frayed sleeves). Punk/grunge aesthetic. • Sun-fade gradient: stronger fade at shoulders/sleeves where natural sun exposure would create wear over time. Realistic 'aged' aesthetic. • Tie-dye + acid-wash combo: tie-dye pattern as base, then acid-wash applied to soften and vintage the design. Creates pre-loved tie-dye aesthetic popular in current streetwear. Base color considerations for acid-wash t-shirts: pre-dyed colored fabric (black, navy, burgundy, forest, charcoal) produces best wash results — the base color provides depth for the fade pattern. White fabric acid-washes inconsistently (already light, hard to create visible contrast).
